WHY BACKPACKER SHOULD VISIT NYANG NYANG BEACH?

HIDDEN BEACH
This beach located in the back of the hill.
You need trek down the hill to reach the beach.

QUIET BEACH
Unlike touristic beach,
This beach is less visitor.

NO ENTRANCE FEE
There is no official entrance fee.
But, they will ask you for a donation.

SURFING BEACH
A place for surfing.
Long coast and beautiful white sand.

WHAT IS NYANG NYANG BEACH?

DESCRIPTION:

Nyang nyang beach is the most less visitor beach in Bali. Even the location near to the Uluwatu temple which is the most visited temple in Bali, it doesn’t mean Nyang nyang beach become touristic place. The road to the beach is without asphalt and to reach the beach you have to trek down the hill about 30 minutes. Maybe that’s the reason Nyang nyang beach not so touristic than other place.

QUIET & LESS VISITOR BEACH

*) If you like a quiet beach, Nyang-nyang beach should be in your list. It’s really not touristic place. Don’t forget to bring water cause there is no shop along the beach.

WHEN THE BEST TIME TO VISIT NYANG NYANG BEACH?

BEST TIME TO VISIT:

DRY SEASON:
April  – October.

*) July – September are the most ideal months to visit this beach since it is little rain and sometime no rain et all.

**) If you visit on west wind season (November – February), you will found the beach so dirty, full of garbage such as plastic, branch, coconut skin, etc. It caused by the west wind blows and bring the waste/garbage from other island and landed in Bali island.

SUNSET TIME:
6.40 PM – 6.45 PM.

*) The color gradation start on 6.15 PM.

THE ROAD TO NYANG NYANG BEACH

*) Be careful when you walk down through this road. The small limestone could make you slipped and falling down.

HOW MUCH IS NYANG-NYANG BEACH ENTRANCE FEE?

ENTRANCE FEE:
Donation.

PARKING FEE:
Free.

*) If you want camping you can do it on the green savanna. Make sure you bring all the things you need because no shop or cafe around here.

LOCATION:
Village (Desa): Pecatu
Sub-district (Kecamatan): Kuta Selatan
Regency (Kabupaten): Badung
Province (Provinsi): Bali

DISTANCE:
About 30 km southwest of Denpasar or 1 hour and 15 minutes.
About 58 km southwest of Ubud or 2 hours.
About 23 km southwest of Kuta beach or 1 hours.
About 21 km southwest of Ngurah Rai airport or 1 hour.

HOW TO GET TO NYANG NYANG BEACH?

PUBLIC TRANSPORT:
There is cheap public transport to get there. Trans SARBAGITA Bus. Ticket only IDR 3,500. First, you must go to halte bus/bus stop of Trans SARBAGITA. Then, you must reach to Garuda Wisnu Kencana halte (halte GWK Depan), and then take Feeder Bus to Uluwatu and stop before Uluwatu temple (A village way to Nyang nyang beach). Ask to the operator if you still confused. Operator will glad to give information. 🙂

From DENPASAR :
please to reach Ngurah Rai Stadium – Then, find Trans SARBAGITA Bus Shelter/Halte,
or reach ‘Kamboja’ or ‘Surapati’ or ‘Sudirman’ Trans SARBAGITA Bus Shelter/Halte.
Then, take Trans  SARBAGITA Bus Corridor 1 – Stop in front of the Garuda Wisnu Kencana (GWK Depan).
Then,  take Feeder Bus to Uluwatu temple – Stop in the way to Nyang nyang beach (before Uluwatu temple). Then, take a walk or take a taxi scooter to the Nyang nyang beach.

From UBUD :
please to reach Batubulan Bus Station – Then, find Trans SARBAGITA Bus Shelter/Halte,
please take Trans  SARBAGITA Bus Corridor 2 – Stop in the ‘Pesanggaran’ Shelter/Halte.
Then, take Trans  SARBAGITA Bus Corridor 1 – Stop in front of the Garuda Wisnu Kencana (GWK Depan).
Then,  take Feeder Bus to Uluwatu temple. – Stop in the way to Nyang nyang beach (before Uluwatu temple). Then, take a walk or take a taxi scooter to the Nyang nyang beach.

From KUTA :
please to reach Kuta Central Parking – Then, find Trans SARBAGITA Bus Shelter/Halte.
please take Trans  SARBAGITA Bus Corridor 2 – Stop in the Patasari (Tuban) Shelter/Halte.
Then, take Trans  SARBAGITA Bus Corridor 1 – Stop in front of the Garuda Wisnu Kencana (GWK Depan).
Then,  take Feeder Bus to Uluwatu temple. – Stop in the way to Nyang nyang beach (before Uluwatu temple). Then, take a walk or take a taxi scooter to the Nyang nyang beach.

From Ngurah Rai Airport :
please to reach ‘Patasari’ Trans SARBAGITA Bus Shelter/Halte,
or reach ‘Kelan’ Trans SARBAGITA Bus Shelter/Halte.
Then, take Trans  SARBAGITA Bus Corridor 1 – Stop in front of the Garuda Wisnu Kencana (GWK Depan).
Then,  take Feeder Bus to Uluwatu temple. – Stop in the way to Nyang nyang beach (before Uluwatu temple). Then, take a walk or take a taxi scooter to the Nyang nyang beach.

*) There is no direct public transport to get there. If you use public transport, you will waste your time because the feeder bus not really sure when it will arrive.

**) For backpacker i recommend you to rent a scooter to reach this beach and use google map as your navigator.

***) Today the road to the parking area already asphalt, not rocky road anymore.

*) You will found so many hermit crab along the coast. Especially near the plants and the rocks.

OTHER INFORMATION:

MOBILE PHONE SIGNAL:
Strong signal for your smartphone. But, no signal on the beach.

RESTROOM/TOILET:
Some restroom and toilet on the cafe. Better bring your own pocket tissue.

CAFE/RESTAURANT:
Some cafe & bar near parking area.

PARKING FEE:
Free

RUBBISH ON NYANG NYANG BEACH

*) in the west wind season, November till February you will see so many garbage/rubbish on the beach such as branch of tree, coconut bark, plastic, flip flop sandals, styrofoam, etc. It caused by the west wind blows and bringing the garbage/rubbish from other island to landed in Bali.

*) The villagers and the beach management already clean it everyday, but it comes again in everyday.

A SHELTER DECORATED USING THE RUBBISH

*) A man with mental retardation build a place to stay and decorated it using the rubbish/garbage that he found along the coast. He also sell some souvenirs like bracelet, necklace, etc.

A SURFER ON NYANG-NYANG BEACH

*) So many coral on the beach. You need to find the best spot for surfing. Maybe you need take to the deeper and far away.

PARAGLIDING

15-20 Minutes.

*) The cost of paragliding is too expensive for a backpacker. But, seems it’s offering a nice experience and view.
