WHAT IS BLANCO MUSEUM?

DESCRIPTION:

Blanco Painting Museum located in the west of Ubud royal palace or south of Campuhan ridge walk. This museum is a house, studio and painting gallery of Don Antonio Blanco. A flamboyant Spanish painter that influenced by Miro & Salvador Dali.

Antonio Blanco was born on September 15th, 1911 in Manila, the capital of the Philippines. Both of his parents were Spanish. Blanco was educated at the American Central School in Manila. During his high school years he loved the arts, literature and language classes. After completing high school in Manila, Blanco studied at the National Academy of Art in New York under Sidney Dickinson. He fascinated by the female body more than any other subject matter and concentrated on the human form.

Antonio Blanco traveled extensively throughout the world wide in order to further his studies. In 1952 he landed in Bali and felt in love to his painting model, Ni Ronji. She is a balinese dancer who conquered his heart. Finally he decided to get marry with this fascinating girl and lived in Bali until the rest of his life.

*) If you bring children better you think it again to visit this museum because so many his paintings are nude women as his object.

*) The waiter said that the color of the drink made from a kind of flower. Nice color and very interesting taste.

PUBLIC TRANSPORT:
There is no direct public transport to get there. You have to take multiple public transport to reach this place.

From UBUD :
If you stay in Ubud area you can just walk to this place.

From KUTA :
Please to reach Kuta Central Parking first – Then, find Trans SARBAGITA Bus Shelter/Halte.
Then take a Trans  SARBAGITA Bus Corridor 2 – Stop at Batubulan Mini/Micro Bus Station.
Then take a Mini/Micro Bus (Bemo) at Batubulan – Stop at Ubud.
Then take a walk to reach this place.

  • Fee: IDR 3,500 + IDR 20K.
  • Timetable: No.

From Ngurah Rai Airport :
Please to reach Ngurah Rai International Gate first – Then, find Trans SARBAGITA Bus Shelter/Halte.
Then take a Trans  SARBAGITA Bus Corridor 2 – Stop at Batubulan Mini/Micro Bus Station.
Then take a Mini/Micro Bus (Bemo) at Batubulan – Stop at Ubud.
Then take a walk to reach this place.

From DENPASAR :
Please to reach  ‘Pesanggaran’ or ‘Pedungan’ Trans SARBAGITA Bus Shelter/Halte first.
Then take a Trans  SARBAGITA Bus Corridor 2 – Stop at Batubulan Mini/Micro Bus Station.
Then take a Mini/Micro Bus (Bemo) at Batubulan – Stop at Ubud.
Then take a walk to reach this place.

Other option: 
Please to reach Ubung Mini/Micro Bus Station first.
Then take a Bemo (Angkot) at Ubung – Stop at Batubulan Mini/Micro Bus Station.
Then take Mini/Micro Bus (Bemo) at Batubulan – Stop at Ubud.
Then take a walk to reach this place.

  • Fee: IDR 15K + IDR 20K.
  • Timetable: No.

– Batubulan Micro/Mini Bus Station.
– Ubung Micro/Mini Bus Station.

*) It’s really not efficient trip using public transport in Bali. Waste your time, energy and money. There is no fixed price in Bali transportation system, except Trans Sarbagita. If the passenger full loaded you will get the price above, but if quiet (little) passenger you will pay more expensive. Seems they applied operational cost basis since the public transport not so popular today (quiet).

**) For backpacker i recommend you to rent a scooter to reach this place and use google map as your navigator.

***) You can also use Go-jek or Grab transport. Their price reasonable, but you have to install the apps first and the driver may not be able to speak english.

*) This session spot is a favorite place for children. They can take a photo with the Macaw bird.

**) Unfortunately the visitor forbidden to take any picture if his paintings. That’s why i took his painting picture from the official website.

*) I only love one of his painting ‘The Addict’. Seems it’s so unique when he put some cigarettes on his painting.

WHAT IS THE MANNERS?

MUSEUM MANNERS:
1. All the visitor should be quiet since other visitor also want to enjoy the painting and the atmosphere.
2. The visitor not allowed to take any picture in the painting collection area (art gallery).
3. The visitor not allowed to touch any painting surface.
4. The visitor not allowed to bring or eat any snacks in the painting gallery.

*) His painting collection contain a lot of naked woman picture. If you are Asian people, it might not suitable with your culture. Better you avoid visit this museum if you traveling with your child. Otherwise, it can make a culture shock on your children.
