BROKEN BEACH (Pantai Pasih Uug) – A Big Hole Created by Abrasion and Collapsed Limestone Hill

DESCRIPTION:

Broken beach created by sea abrasion and collapsed limestone hill in million years ago. The local people called it as “Pasih Uug” or broken beach or damaged beach. This hole has 98 meter in diameter and offering unique and scenic view. The white sand, blue sea water, deep cliff limestone, horizon view and the green hills are the panorama of Pasih Uug beach.

HOW MUCH IS THE ENTRANCE FEE?

ENTRY TICKET:
Free

PARKING FEE:
scooter: IDR 2K —> IDR 5K.
Car: IDR 5K —> IDR 10K.

*) It’s not only the beach who broken. But, the road to the beach also broken and slippery. Better you take a tour by a car for safety and comfort reason.

WHEN THE BEST TIME TO VISIT IT?

DRY SEASON:
April  – October.

*) July to September are the most ideal months to visit this beach since it is little rain and sometime no rain et all.

**) If you visit on the wet/rain season, the road to the beach will be slippery and could be danger. Be careful and stay focus when driving scooter on this road.

***) On dry season the road will be dusty because of the car passed the road. Better wear your glasses or helmet with transparent face protector.

SUNSET TIME:
6.40 PM – 6.45 PM.

*) The color gradation start on 6.15 PM.

MANTA SEASON:
July – September.

*) You need take a small boat (jukung) to go to Manta dive spot nearby the Broken beach.

*) You can not go down and reach the beach because of the deep cliff.

WHERE IS IT?

LOCATION:
Village (Desa): Sompang, Bunga Mekar
Sub-district (Kecamatan): Nusa Penida
Regency (Kabupaten): Klungkung
Province (Provinsi): Bali

DISTANCE:
About 26 km southwest of Roro Nusa Penida ferry port or 1 hour and 20 minutes.
About 17 km southwest of Toyapakeh harbour or 1 hour.

HOW TO GET TO THE LOCATION?

PUBLIC TRANSPORT:
There is no public transport to get there. But, here the way to reach the Nusa Penida.

*) For backpacker i recommend you to rent a scooter to reach this beach  and use google maps as your navigator. Otherwise, for comfort and safety reason you can take a tour by a car since the road so small and broken.

**) Scooter rental fee in Nusa Penida island around IDR 70K-75K per day. If you rent for 3 days you may get cheap price.

***) The gas station in the northern of Nusa Penida only, there is no gas station in the southern. Also it will closed on 7 PM.

MOBILE PHONE SIGNAL:
Poor signal for your smartphone.
*) Use Telkomsel SIM card.

RESTROOM/TOILET NEARBY:
Some restroom and toilet. Better bring your own pocket tissue.

CAFE/RESTAURANT NEARBY:
Some simple shops and simple ‘warung’ restaurant.

*) Be careful when you taking photo. It’s very deep cliff. Good photo spot, but also dangerous place.

**) Take your time wisely when taking picture, other visitor also want to take photo in this spot.

ANGEL’S BILLABONG

*) You will see another sight before arrive on the Broken beach. It’s Angel’s Billabong. It’s natural pool with the clear water and will attract you to swim and take picture. 😉

*) If you visit Angel’s Billabong on the rainy season, you will found the natural pool fulfilled by brown water because of the mud from the small river. Better you visit it on the summer, so the water will looks so clear.

*) Be careful when you swim at Angel’s Billabong, the big wave can come suddenly. It possible to crash you on the wall or suck you into the ocean. Last year one visitor from New Zealand sucked into the ocean and drowned. Stay enjoy on the billabong but keep alert.

*) One local people with whistle blower stay and watching on the top of the billabong. He will alert you when you across the danger area. He also will alert you when the big wave coming.

    angel’s billabong is amazing place you have to swim in. And you can get awesome pics opposite side of that hole in broken cliff. Easy path to the cliff, you can even find shadow to have a break and rest. What is disappointing little bit is lots of garbage everywhere

      Angel’s billabong always attract visitor to swim and take some nice pictures.
      I became the eye witness that big wave on Angel’s billabong can come suddenly.
      Know your limit and the potential hazard before swim is much better to face the worst scenario.
