WHY BACKPACKER SHOULD VISIT NUNGGALAN BEACH?

HIDDEN BEACH
This beach located in the back of the hill.
You need trek down the hill to reach the beach.

QUIET BEACH
Unlike touristic beach, this beach is less visitor.
So quiet, you can enjoy sunbathing here.

CAMPING SPOT
A place for camping and watch the night sky.
Long coast and beautiful white sand.

NO ENTRANCE FEE
There is no official entrance fee.
But, you will pay for parking fee.

WHAT IS NUNGGALAN BEACH?

DESCRIPTION:

Nunggalan beach is one of the most less visitor beach in Bali. It just in the one coastline with Nyang nyang beach. You have to reach Plenilunio Villa first, then walk on the footpath beside the villa. It will take about 10 minutes by trekking down the hill. Along the track sometime you will found monkey and a cave. Nunggalan beach has long coastline, you can walk along the beach and found a shipwreck. Sometime you will found a group of fisherman fishing in here.

*) It’s really quiet beach. It’s like an empty coast.

WHEN THE BEST TIME TO VISIT NUNGGALAN BEACH?

BEST TIME TO VISIT:

DRY SEASON:
April  – October.

*) July to September are the most ideal months to visit this beach since it is little rain and sometime no rain et all.

**) If you visit on west wind season (November – February), you will found the beach so dirty, full of garbage such as plastic, branch, coconut skin, etc. It caused by the west wind blows and bring the waste/garbage from other island and landed in Bali island.

SUNSET TIME:
6.40 PM – 6.45 PM.

*) The color gradation start on 6.15 PM.

HOW MUCH IS THE NUNGGALAN BEACH ENTRANCE FEE?

ENTRY TICKET:
Free.

PARKING FEE:
IDR 2K for scooter.
IDR 5K for car.

WHERE IS THE NUNGGALAN BEACH LOCATED?

LOCATION:
Village (Desa): Pecatu
Sub-district (Kecamatan): Kuta Selatan
Regency (Kabupaten): Badung
Province (Provinsi): Bali

DISTANCE:
About 30 km southwest of Denpasar or 1 hour and 15 minutes.
About 58 km southwest of Ubud or 2 hours.
About 23 km southwest of Kuta beach or 1 hours.
About 21 km southwest of Ngurah Rai airport or 1 hour.

HOW TO GET TO NUNGGALAN BEACH?

PUBLIC TRANSPORT:
There is cheap public transport to get there. Trans SARBAGITA Bus. Ticket only IDR 3,500. First, you must go to halte bus/bus stop of Trans SARBAGITA. Then, you must reach to Garuda Wisnu Kencana halte (halte GWK Depan), and then take Feeder Bus to Uluwatu and stop before Uluwatu temple (A village way to Nunggalan beach). Ask to the operator if you still confused. Operator will glad to give information. 🙂

From DENPASAR :
please to reach Ngurah Rai Stadium – Then, find Trans SARBAGITA Bus Shelter/Halte,
or reach ‘Kamboja’ or ‘Surapati’ or ‘Sudirman’ Trans SARBAGITA Bus Shelter/Halte.
Then, take Trans  SARBAGITA Bus Corridor 1 – Stop in front of the Garuda Wisnu Kencana (GWK Depan).
Then,  take Feeder Bus to Uluwatu temple – Stop in the way to Nunggalan  beach (before Uluwatu temple). Then, take a walk or take a taxi scooter to the Nunggalan beach.

From UBUD :
please to reach Batubulan Bus Station – Then, find Trans SARBAGITA Bus Shelter/Halte,
please take Trans  SARBAGITA Bus Corridor 2 – Stop in the ‘Pesanggaran’ Shelter/Halte.
Then, take Trans  SARBAGITA Bus Corridor 1 – Stop in front of the Garuda Wisnu Kencana (GWK Depan).
Then,  take Feeder Bus to Uluwatu temple. – Stop in the way to Nunggalan  beach (before Uluwatu temple). Then, take a walk or take a taxi scooter to the Nunggalan  beach.

From KUTA :
please to reach Kuta Central Parking – Then, find Trans SARBAGITA Bus Shelter/Halte.
please take Trans  SARBAGITA Bus Corridor 2 – Stop in the Patasari (Tuban) Shelter/Halte.
Then, take Trans  SARBAGITA Bus Corridor 1 – Stop in front of the Garuda Wisnu Kencana (GWK Depan).
Then,  take Feeder Bus to Uluwatu temple. – Stop in the way to Nunggalan  beach (before Uluwatu temple). Then, take a walk or take a taxi scooter to the Nunggalan  beach.

From Ngurah Rai Airport :
please to reach ‘Patasari’ Trans SARBAGITA Bus Shelter/Halte,
or reach ‘Kelan’ Trans SARBAGITA Bus Shelter/Halte.
Then, take Trans  SARBAGITA Bus Corridor 1 – Stop in front of the Garuda Wisnu Kencana (GWK Depan).
Then,  take Feeder Bus to Uluwatu temple. – Stop in the way to Nunggalan  beach (before Uluwatu temple). Then, take a walk or take a taxi scooter to the Nunggalan beach.

*) There is no direct public transport to get there. If you use public transport, you will waste your time because the feeder bus not really sure when it will arrive.

**) For backpacker i recommend you to rent a scooter to reach this temple and use google map as your navigator.

*) Seems the shipwreck here become popular as a photo spot.

OTHER INFORMATION:

MOBILE PHONE SIGNAL:
Strong signal for your smartphone. But, no signal on the beach.

RESTROOM/TOILET:
Some restroom and toilet on the cafe. Better bring your own pocket tissue.

CAFE/RESTAURANT:
Some cafe & bar near parking area.

*) Cold ‘Bintang’ beer and coconut water available in here.

*) I surprised they able catched some big fish. Seems it looks like a shallow beach, but these fishes living here.

**) The fisherman offering me the fresh fishes, but i’m not ready for cook the fish.

CAMPING:

You can bring your tent and set up on the green savanna. Otherwise, you can take a bubble hotel for your stay and watch the starry night. But, it will be very expensive actually. It’s about USD 100 per night.

*) It’s super quiet beach compare to other beaches in Bali. This beach might suitable for you to relax and chill out. Better visit it on weekday and not on Indonesian or Balinese holiday.
