*) It’s really not efficient trip using public transport in Bali. Waste your time, energy and money. There is no fixed price in Bali transportation system, except Trans Sarbagita. If the passenger full loaded you will get the price above, but if quiet (little) passenger you will pay more expensive. Seems they applied operational cost basis since the public transport not so popular today (quiet).

**) For backpacker i recommend you to rent a scooter to reach this place and use google map as your navigator.

***) On long weekend the road will be crowded and traffic jam. Google will choose the quiet road which is a small village road. Well, a little disappointed actually because you have to lowering your speed and the traffic jam happened only for the cars. Scooter still can access the road. Better you keep ride on the main road.

****) You can not use Go-jek or Grab transport because the distance so far and it’s hard for them to find other passenger on the way back.

*) I love this picture, seems it like a frame of the temple. A natural frame.;-)

MULTI LEVEL ROOF

bali-backpacker_Ulun_Danu_Bratan_Bedugul_temple_pura_ulun_danu_beratan_3

*) The roof of the temple made from a kind of palm peat, we named it as ‘Ijuk’. It’s a black color and it arranged so thick and stacked up. It’s so natural for sure. Then it combined with nice colorful decoration. Looks so beautiful, right?

OTHER INFORMATION:

MOBILE PHONE SIGNAL:
Strong signal for your smartphone.

RESTROOM/TOILET:
Some restroom and toilet. Better bring your own tissue.

CAFE/RESTAURANT:
Some shops are inside & outside of temple area selling foods, snacks and souvenirs.

BUDDHIST TEMPLE IN THE ULUN DANU BRATAN AREA:

bali-backpacker_Ulun_Danu_Bratan_Bedugul_temple_pura_ulun_danu_beratan_9

*) I surprised when found budhist temple on the hindus temple area. Then, i search on Google it was established in the same time of hindus temple.

**) I realize maybe it was influenced of Majapahit kingdom (Java) which popular religion is Shiva-Buddhist. It’s syncretism between Shivaism and Buddhism. But, today is separated religion. Hindus people praying on Ulun Danu hindus temple and buddhist people visit and pray in here for sometime.

A BUDDHIST NUN WATCHING THE BUDHIST TEMPLE:

bali-backpacker_Ulun_Danu_Bratan_Bedugul_temple_pura_ulun_danu_beratan_7

*) How come the government archaeological and conservation board lets this heritage building without treatment? There are so many grass and algae on this temple. I never found like this in Java and Yogyakarta. What a shame!
